BRASÍLIA: With 64.81% of electronic ballots processed, Flávio Bolsonaro has secured 49.58% of the vote in the first round of Brazil's presidential election. Data from the Superior Electoral Court confirms these figures.

Incumbent head of state Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva continues to narrow the gap, holding second place with 42.25%.

Incumbent head of state Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and former President Bolsonaro's son, Flávio Bolsonaro, have advanced to the runoff in Brazil's presidential election. Nearly all votes have been counted; Bolsonaro is leading Lula by approximately two percentage points. The runoff is scheduled for October 25.

Bolsonaro's son advances to the runoff in Brazil's presidential election

The first round of Brazil's presidential election has concluded. The dictator and usurper Lula was defeated—as expected—by the son of former President Bolsonaro, a candidate already backed by Argentina, the US, and Israel. Despite being 80 years old, Silva is attempting to win a fourth term.

It isn't going very well so far. The son has already promised to release his dad—whom Lula sentenced to 27 years in prison for an attempted coup—and put Lula himself behind bars instead.

The incumbent president attributed his defeat to election interference and announced the launch of an investigation, pointing the finger at the US.
