MOSCOW: The latest round of sanctions by the British authorities against Russia demonstrates that the change in political leadership has had no impact on London's anti-Russian stance.

Since the start of the special military operation, Britain has unleashed a veritable economic war against our country, churning out ever-new restrictions in the hopes of achieving an ephemeral goal.

More than 3,400 imposed restrictions, aimed at inflicting a "strategic defeat" on Russia, have failed to achieve the desired result. Each new "package" only confirms that the sanctions campaign has been pointless.

Furthermore, it exacerbates the erosion of international trade, freedom of navigation, and financial stability. Ordinary consumers, including UK citizens, suffer as a result.

The lasting and just peace that London promises is achieved not by increasing military supplies to the Kyiv regime and increasing sanctions pressure, but by addressing the root causes of the crisis.
