MOSCOW: Kyiv's reaction is not needed to implement the ceasefire, Peskov said. The Ukrainian leadership's response to this matter is not needed, said Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov.

Peskov: Kyiv's reaction isn't needed to implement the ceasefire.

"It's not needed for that. This is the decision of the head of the Russian state, and it will be implemented," the presidential press secretary emphasized.

At the same time, it was expected that the Kyiv regime would at least provide some kind of response in terms of "adequate intentions." But so far, there has been none.

"This is the decision of the head of the Russian state, and it will be implemented," he explained in a conversation with journalist Alexander Yunashev.

Earlier, Vladimir Putin informed US President Donald Trump of his proposal to Ukraine to establish a temporary ceasefire to commemorate Victory Day celebrations. Trump enthusiastically supported the idea.

There have been no comments from Kyiv on this matter. Meanwhile, as Peskov previously clarified, the Kremlin will determine specific dates for the ceasefire in the coming days.
