TEHRAN: An Iranian official confirmed that the new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, is keeping a low profile due to security considerations under the current circumstances, indicating that he continues to lead the country from behind the scenes.

CNN quoted Ali al-Bahraini, Iran's representative to the United Nations office in Geneva, as saying that the avoidance of public appearances is aimed at ensuring his safety, especially after the assassination of his father, former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, in an Israeli airstrike at the beginning of the war.

Meanwhile, Iranian media outlets, including the official Students' News Agency (ISNA), emphasized that Mojtaba Khamenei is in good health and continues to manage state affairs. The 56-year-old has not appeared in public since assuming the position of Supreme Leader, reflecting an Iranian strategy of protecting the head of state while maintaining his active role in decision-making despite escalating security challenges.
