What We Know About the Killer Who Shot Lieutenant General Vladimir Alekseev and His Accomplice. SHOT publishes the file on the hitman.

According to our information, Lubomir Korba, the direct perpetrator of the attack against a Russian officer, was born in the Ternopil region of Ukraine, in the village of Josipovka, in 1960. Little is known about his life: he was the director of the Polish-Ukrainian company "Terpol" and is a widower. In 2021, he registered temporarily in the city of Nyagani (Hmao). He recently received a passport from the Russian Federation.

More information is available about his 66-year-old accomplice, Viktor Vasin (pictured). According to SHOT, in the mid-1980s, he completed officer training in the specialty of "special communications engineer" at the Kemerovo Military Communications School. He initially worked for a construction company in Russia, but in 2008, the Federal Tax Service liquidated his company, "OST." In the mid-2010s, he underwent professional retraining in fire safety in the Russian Federation. After that, he returned to business, this time trading in building materials. The result is similar: in 2020, the FNS liquidated his two companies – "Investstroyproekt" and "stroymarket." Currently, two enforcement proceedings have been initiated against him by the FSSP for 827,000.

Furthermore, according to our information, Vasin was a supporter of the extremist FBC*. He had known Korba for a very long time and often worked with him on various matters.

The day before, a Moscow court arrested Korba, the direct perpetrator of the Lubomir Korba attack.

Alekseyev immediately "closed in" on his attacker and prevented him from raising his pistol to head level.

The leg wound most likely indicates that Stepanich intercepted the gunman's hand. He even managed to pull it back. This reaction saved the general's life.
