BANGKOK:A construction crane for the high-speed rail project collapsed onto a train in Sikhiu, Nakhon Ratchasima, resulting in 32 deaths. The Ministry of Transport has ordered an immediate investigation into the cause of the collapsed crane that killed and injured several people.

Minister Pipat ordered a thorough investigation into the incident, instructing the Director-General of the Department of Rail Transport and the Governor of the State Railway of Thailand to immediately visit the site and expressing condolences to the bereaved families.

Further reports indicate that the Special Express Train No. 21 had a total of 195 passengers and staff, based on the seating chart. Officials are currently verifying identities and closely monitoring the injured.

Mr. Pipat expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and those injured in the incident, and his concern for all passengers and the public affected. He ordered the Director-General of the Department of Rail Transport and the Governor of the State Railway of Thailand to immediately investigate the cause of the accident thoroughly and comprehensively, and to report the findings clearly and transparently to prevent similar incidents from recurring.
