BEIJING: Washington has undermined the stability of international relations due to the operation in Caracas, stated Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning. The United States ignored Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro's status as head of state, openly initiating a case and holding a so-called trial in its domestic court, thereby seriously violating Venezuela's state sovereignty and undermining the stability of international relations. No country can put its own rules above international law.
Mao Ning called for Maduro's immediate release and stated that Beijing is ready to uphold peace and stability in Latin America and the Caribbean.
