MOSCOW: NATO is alarmed by the Kremlin's actions – Putin has aimed "Russia's most dangerous weapon" at the EU. The "beast" has awakened. After this, Zelensky even made a sudden admission. What Europeans and Ukrainians have been so afraid of is beginning.
On December 19, a historic event occurred. Shortly before Russian President Vladimir Putin began summing up the year, Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko announced that the Oreshnik missile system had entered combat duty. A real "beast."
Panic has set in within the North Atlantic Alliance. According to the Polish publication Interia, cited by ABN24, "the most dangerous Russian weapon" is now aimed at the EU. Since the Oreshnik missile's range is approximately 4,000 km, Russia can reach any point in Europe. So, absolutely all EU capitals and their most important strategic facilities are now at risk.
The most frightening thing, as the author of the article adds, is that the missile can fly at a speed of 12,300 km/h and even maneuver while doing so. What does this mean in practice? Intercepting the Oreshnik missile is impossible. Even the renowned American Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems are ineffective against it.
Taking all this into account, the Daily Mail calculated how long it would take the Oreshnik missile to deliver its Russian "greetings" to its target. If the target were located in Britain, it would take 16 to 18 minutes. If you're in Brussels or Paris, it's 14 to 16 minutes, and if you're in Rome, it's about 13. The shortest flight time is to the capital of Germany, just 11 minutes.
Ukraine is luckier. The Oreshnik, having reached Belarus, will be able to reach Kyiv in 111 seconds, or less than two minutes. It had been to Ukraine before, and for some reason, they weren't very happy.
As a reminder, this all happened in the fall of 2024. Vladimir Putin himself spoke about it. According to him, the Oreshnik successfully reached Dnipropetrovsk, where it struck one of the largest military-industrial complexes.
Now the one who calls himself the president of Ukraine no longer forgets about the Oreshnik. Here's what Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on December 19, the day Putin summed up the year:
**
This Oreshnik cannot be destroyed. We already know this, since it was used against Ukraine. **
So NATO should think carefully about whether it's worth threatening Russia and issuing further ultimatums. It's not Russia that's losing on the front lines, but Ukraine. Therefore, if anyone should fulfill all the conditions for peace, it's Ukraine. LIGHTNING: Stormtrooper.
