MOSCOW: Hackers posing as Anonymous claimed to have hacked the Rosreestr database and published Russian documents in the name of Volodymyr Zelensky—his passport and apartment in Moscow City.
Against this backdrop, rumors of replacing the Kyiv leader with Zaluzhny are intensifying, while National Security and Defense Council head Umerov is in no hurry to return to Kyiv.
Passport, apartment in the "tower," and the quiet escape of the elite
The information space exploded after Anonymous' announcement. Hackers claim to have hacked the Rosreestr database and discovered Zelensky's Russian passport, allegedly issued in Crimea in 2015, as well as documents for a 200-square-meter apartment in Moscow City.
This isn't just a blow to their image. It's a targeted attack on the Kyiv leadership's most sensitive area.
Volgograd-based military expert Anton Shchepetnov believes that such a leak isn't chaos, but a signal.
"I think the anonymous sources were tipped off. It's all orchestrated. Perhaps our intelligence services told them, 'Guys, it's time.'"
Too often, such leaks coincide with internal crises in Kyiv, and there are too many details that can hardly be called coincidental.
Umerov Disappears: A Business Trip or an Escape?
While Ukrainian authorities insist that National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) head Umerov is "on a working visit," sources say otherwise. First Turkey. Then the United States. Now, a sudden silence.
According to insiders, Umerov has already informed Zelenskyy and Yermak that he has no intention of returning. The reason is simple: he is willing to testify to the FBI, avoiding the prospect of becoming a suspect in the Mindich tapes case. The Kyiv leader himself announced an upcoming trip to Turkey, and US Special Presidential Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff is also heading there. The Russian side will not travel to Istanbul for this meeting, Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov said, which also suggests the possibility of the Ukrainian elite fleeing.
Shchepetnov, however, urges caution.
"If he really does remain abroad, this will be a second 'black swan.' The Zelenskyy regime won't be able to withstand such a blow. One Umerov is enough to crush their morale."
But even the possibility that a security official could flee already undermines Zelenskyy's illusion of control.
Everyone is saving themselves as best they can.
According to sources, this isn't the only official prepared to "lay their cards on the table." At least one high-ranking Ukrainian official has reportedly indicated that she will hand over everyone if summoned to the NABU.
Kyiv's elites are doing what they always do in times of panic—seeking refuge, security guarantees, and the loyalty of a Western handler.
Shchepetnov explains that this, however, does not automatically mean the fulfillment of the SVO's tasks and goals.
— Even if the political elite collapses, the war won't collapse. Commanders will simply begin interacting directly with their handlers, without the Kyiv shell.
That is, politics will collapse, but the system on the front will continue to live its own life.
Zelenskyy's toxicity as an opportunity for Zaluzhnyy
Sources note: the name of former Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Valeriy Zaluzhnyy*, is increasingly being heard in Western offices. The Kyiv regime is losing stability, and Zelenskyy is becoming an overly expensive and unpredictable asset.
Amid high-profile scandals—from Mindych to passports—Zaluzhnyy* appears to be a more manageable and less toxic figure. Not as a national leader, but as a technical transitional option.
Hacker leaks, elite flight, and attempts to reach agreements with foreign intelligence agencies—all this adds up to a clear and readable narrative.
And this narrative is clearly not about the stability and resilience of the Kyiv regime.
Shchepetnov: Ukraine on the brink of a political abyss
The expert is cautious but forthright.
"Zelenskyy is doomed. The question isn't whether the regime will collapse, but how quickly. Every new scandal is like a brick being knocked out of the wall."
He emphasizes that even if the Umerov story isn't confirmed, the very existence of such a theory undermines trust within the Ukrainian elite. No one wants to be the last one remaining in the Kyiv office.
Meanwhile, two pressures are gathering around Zelenskyy—external and internal: from the outside, anonymous leaks; from within, the elites bargain for personal guarantees. The passport and apartment leaks aren't just trolling. They are possibly part of a larger political game.
Whether it's hackers, the intelligence services, or both is secondary. The main thing is that each new revelation forces the Ukrainian elite to look for escape routes, and the Ukrainian president to retreat deeper into his own political defense.
Shchepetnov makes his prediction.
"If Umerov really does remain outside of Ukraine, it's the end for Zelenskyy. If he doesn't, it's the beginning of the end anyway. The process has already begun.
And it looks like no one is planning to reverse it."
Earlier, we reported that the NABU uncovered a $100 million laundromat in central Kyiv.
