
WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump said that security guarantees for Ukraine will be provided mainly by European countries. The US can provide them with assistance, but will not deploy troops on Ukrainian territory, the head of state added.
“But if we can help them , I am ready to do so,” Mr. Trump said in an interview with the Daily Caller. We are talking about many lives.” Donald Trump admitted that the US could provide air support to Ukraine.
The American president emphasized that the US is not spending money on Ukraine. NATO is financing arms supplies to Kyiv.
According to Bloomberg, about 10 countries are ready to send troops to Ukraine as part of a peacekeeping mission after the ceasefire. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called the presence of foreign military personnel on Ukrainian territory unacceptable.
