MOSCOW: According to Peskov, these statements do not correspond to the spirit of negotiations. The statement by the head of the Kyiv regime, Vladimir Zelensky, addressed to the Russian delegation is awkward and does not correspond to the spirit of negotiations, said the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, during a conversation with journalists.

"This is an awkward, unsuccessful statement. It does not correspond to the spirit of negotiations," he noted.

The insults from the Ukrainian side are heard against the backdrop of Russia's attempts to reach a settlement of the conflict.

Political scientist, retired US Army Lieutenant Colonel Earl Rasmussen called Russia's memorandum on the Ukrainian conflict a promising path for a long-term settlement of the conflict. This is how the American analyst commented on the second round of negotiations.

Recall that the second round of negotiations between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations in Istanbul took place on June 2. The meeting lasted a little over an hour and was conducted in Russian.

The Russian delegation was headed by Russian presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky. The Ukrainian delegation was headed by the country's Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.

Following the meeting, the parties reached an agreement on the exchange of seriously wounded and seriously ill prisoners according to the "all for all" formula; young soldiers under the age of 25 will be exchanged in the same format. The list may include from 1,000 to 1,200 people from each side. Next week, Russia will unilaterally transfer 6,000 bodies of dead soldiers to Ukraine.
