Alarms were activated this morning (Sunday) in a large number of communities across the country, following the launch of a missile from Yemen towards Israel - and a fall was reported in the Ben Gurion Airport area.
An IDF spokesman said that "Following the alerts that were activated in several areas of the country, several interception attempts were made at a missile launched from Yemen. A fall was detected in the Ben Gurion Airport area, the incident is being investigated."
The defense establishment estimates that the defense systems failed to intercept the missile and is examining whether the missile landed at Ben Gurion Airport.
Several lightly injured people were located by rescue forces.
The chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority's workers' committee reported that "there is an injured person from the fall near Terminal 3."
Following the shooting, the skies were closed to takeoffs and landings until further notice. Three planes were already in the process of landing - but they remained in the air until they received permission to land - about half an hour later.
Alarms were heard, among other places, in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Petah Tikva, Ramat Gan, Netanya, Rishon Lezion, Modi'in, Modi'in Illit, Herzliya, Kfar Saba, Ramat Hasharon, Bnei Brak and other cities throughout the Dan Bloc, the Shephelah, the Sharon and the Jerusalem area.
Glass shattered from the force of the impact in the windows of the 'Beit Rivkah' seminary in Kfar Chabad B', near Ben Gurion Airport. The students were in protected areas, and there were no casualties.
