In an interview with ISNA, Mohammad Ali Nabipour, referring to the speech of the deputy consular officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs last year about establishing several new consulates in Mashhad, stated: "Our priority right now is to establish the Indian Consulate, and the necessary agreements have been announced for this and the Consulate General of this country will be transferred from Zahedan to Mashhad."

Referring to the position of Khorasan Razavi in ​​foreign policy, he added: "Our province, given its geographical conditions, has great potential in implementing many foreign policy relations." In addition, Khorasan Razavi has a lot of elite potential, and this province is also the cultural and pilgrimage capital of the country, which has played an unparalleled role throughout history, so we can offer successful models in foreign policy.

Referring to the holding of last year's ECO summit in Mashhad, the deputy political director of the Khorasan Razavi governorate said: The executive level of the ECO summit was very high. I believe that the successful holding of the ECO summit is a beginning for holding other summits in our province, and we will achieve other major international events together.

According to ISNA, Mashhad has the largest number of international representative offices in the country after the capital, with seven consulates including Afghanistan, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Iraq, Turkey, Tajikistan, and Saudi Arabia, as well as the representative office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
